Nel modello AD-AS identifichiamo la Domanda aggregata (AD) e l'Offerta aggregata (AS); la domanda aggregata (AD) costituisce la domanda di beni e servizi, in un sistema economico, nel suo complesso, e l'offerta aggregata (AS) costituisce la capacità produttiva, in un sistema economico, nel suo complesso.
Il modello AD-AS da un punto di vista grafico è rappresentato con la produzione a livello delle ascisse e con il livello dei prezzi a livello delle ordinate
Il punto E rappresenta il punto di equilibrio tra curve di offerta e di domanda AS e AD.
Quindi, il modello AD-AS (Domanda Aggregata - Offerta Aggregata) costituisce un modello macroeconomico che definisce l'equilibrio generale in un'economia, illustrando come la domanda e l'offerta aggregata delineano il livello dei prezzi e la produzione.
